Anaphylaxis Webinar Recording

22nd June 2022

Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening emergency that requires prompt recognition of signs and symptoms, early administration of adrenaline (epinephrine) in adequate dosage, and aggressive volume replacement.

In 2021, The Canberra Hospital had a increase in the incidence of anaphylaxis in the Operating Room.  A gap of knowledge was identified within the Perioperative Unit.  Janeya's presentation is on the Australian & New Zealand Anaesthetic Allergy Group (ANZAAG) guidelines for the diagnosis and management of anaphylaxis.  It gives everyone a streamlined response to anaphylaxis - when everyone is on the same page, it leads to a faster recognition of the situation and less delays to treatment leading to better patient outcomes.

Janeya has been a Registered Nurse for eight years working in Anaesthetics, PACU, Infection Control & Patient Safety.  Janeya has a passion for learning and sharing that knowledge with her peers.

This webinar and others can all be found on our 'Webinars' page under the 'Members Resources' tab.
