The NSW OTA are delighted to be hosting the Introduction to Perioperative Nursing Principles & Practices

This two-day course is aimed at nurses (3rd year undergraduate, RN & EN) interested in a career in perioperative nursing, but have limited or no experience.
The aims of the program are to introduce you to:

• the roles of perioperative nurses,
• the environment,
• legal principles,
• anaesthesia and post-anaesthesia care of the patient
• principles of infection control & aseptic technique, patient safety

Course dates 22nd & 23 February 2025

Cost: $100

Venue: Operating Theatre, Royal North Shore Hospital

Questions for course applicants to answer:-

What motivated you to apply for the Introduction to Perioperative Nursing Program course?

Please describe any previous time you have spent in the perioperative environment (the role you were in and how long for, e.g. nursing student for 2 weeks)?

Please advise of your years working in nursing (if applicable).

If you attend this program, describe briefly how you will apply the new knowledge (e.g. do you intend on applying for a role in the perioperative environment as a nurse)?
